13 September, 1975- Entry 2

I never know what to write in here

Things to do:
Herbology essay
Read for Potions
Return Magical Maladies of the Medieval Era to the library

The weather is surprisingly nice for Autumn. I think I'll go in the Courtyard and read for awhile, until History of Magic at least. If you have something nice to say, I'd like to hear it. I've been down in the dumps all day.

Observation of the Day: The school owls in the Owlery are not good at sitting for portraits.

8 September, 1975- entry 1

Hello.

These journals are really clever, aren't they? It's got to be some sort of Protean charm. I've been experimenting with mine since the Feast and I've managed to figure out some of the tricks, but I don't think for a moment that I've found them all. It's working, at least, and I got the cover to change colour quite nicely. How strange, to have a journal that everyone can see into. Maybe the intention was to increase understanding and social interaction between the students, but I think the result will be that everyone will learn to watch what they say write. Or maybe that was the intention after all. Any thoughts?

Did everyone have a nice summer? Mine was pretty good, I guess. My dad and I went camping out by Laurel River Lake for a week with our neighbours. They have a daughter my age, but all she ever wants to do is talk about Shaun Cassidy. Anyway, I'm very excited to be back at school, even though I already miss my dad something awful.

Observation of the Day: I do not like black liquorice.
